Job Title: Highway / Road Safety Expert

Location: Hinjewadi Phase 2, Pune

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years in Highway Sector

Qualification: Graduate / Postgraduate in Civil Engineering

Reporting To: Project Director / Technical Lead

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Highway / Road Safety Expert with a strong background in civil engineering and hands-on experience in the highway sector. The ideal candidate should have served in the capacity of Highway Engineer, Road Safety Expert, or Project Manager in at least one highway project with a minimum involvement of 1 year.

The candidate will play a key role in ensuring safety standards, assessing risks, validating existing assets, and recommending safety improvement measures on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive road safety audits and site-level safety assessments.
  • Identify road safety risks and hazards across project stretches and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Validate roadway assets such as signage, guardrails, pavement markings, etc.
  • Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into project design.
  • Analyze crash data, accident reports, and incident trends to propose safety improvements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Monitor implementation of safety recommendations during the construction and operation phases.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international road safety guidelines and standards.
  • Liaise with government authorities, contractors, and consultants as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the highway infrastructure sector.
  • Prior experience as Highway Engineer, Road Safety Expert, or Project Manager in at least one highway project (duration ≥ 1 year).
  • In-depth knowledge of road safety engineering, traffic control devices, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in using tools and software related to highway design and safety analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a proactive approach.

Preferred Certifications (not mandatory):

  • Certification in Road Safety Audit (RSA) or Traffic Safety Engineering.
  • Familiarity with IRC Guidelines, MoRTH specifications, and other relevant codes.
