Job Description

The Contract Specialist supports Agilent's business operations by managing broad range of contractual matters. This position oversees a portfolio of Agilent contracts, directly facilitating revenue generation while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

The Contract Specialist role involves close collaboration with various Agilent departments to identify and execute appropriate contractual solutions for different business situations. This includes overseeing the entire contracting process from request to signature and contract completion. For some contract categories, this also includes activation of the commercial conditions of the contracts for order booking. Once a contract is established, the Contract Specialist monitors and maintains it throughout its term.

The Contract Specialist leverages Agilent's tools to provide transparency and oversight regarding the contractual rights and obligations of all parties. They work closely with a broad range of internal teams and may interact directly with external parties for contract negotiations or partner with a Contract Negotiator or Enterprise Counsel for support.

This role requires a highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and business-minded individual capable of managing a wide range of contractual matters while fostering strong relationships with business stakeholders and other Legal department members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for contract requests from Agilent internal teams, working with requestors to define the appropriate contractual solutions.

  • Manages the end-to-end contract process in a timely and accurate manner, including drafting, reviewing, obtaining signatures, and activating contracts in line with Agilent policies while driving positive customer experience.

  • Plays a central role in establishing a consistent and disciplined approach to contract management, applying standardized language, templates, and processes, and utilizing contract lifecycle automation tools to streamline and optimize workflows.

  • Monitors and maintains contracts throughout their term, in collaboration with stakeholders assesses the appropriate actions to amend or renew them as necessary.

  • Involves other members of the Legal department or internal stakeholders as consultants, approvers, or as otherwise needed to ensure full compliance with relevant processes and requirements.

  • Effectively leverages Agilent tools such as SAP, Contract Lifecycle Management Tools, Microsoft Office solutions, and others to manage contracts and maintain them active for usage by stakeholders and third parties.

  • Routinely uses reports and analytics to manage the contract portfolio, resolve data discrepancies and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensures compliance with existing processes and policies on contract management.

  • Contract negotiation:

  • Negotiates contractual terms and conditions in orders and contracts, escalating to Contract Negotiator as required.

  • Collaboration with Business and Legal Stakeholders:

  • Acts as a trusted advisor in contractual matters.

  • Collaborates closely with various departments to ensure contractual obligations are clearly defined, communicated, understood, and met.

  • Creates materials and delivers presentations to make contractual processes transparent to stakeholders and collaborators.

  • Contract Template Management:

  • Collaborates with other Legal team members in defining, maintaining and localizing the contract templates.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of contracting process and collaborate with other Legal team members for the same.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of equity administration.

  • Actively participate in professional development activities to enhance legal skills and knowledge.

  • Foster Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing in Legal:

  • Partner closely with other legal functions to deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive legal support.

  • Share best practices and knowledge across the legal team and with business partners through regular training and engagement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.

Post-graduate, certification, and/or license may be required.

Typically, at least 1-2+ years relevant experience.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
