Role:

Vehicle / Body CFD Simulation & Evaluation

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare full vehicle CFD models using HYPERMESH and Star CCM+: Rigid Body Meshing (Triad meshing), Correction in UG/NX & HM, Creating Air-Leak Proof Assembly in Star CCM+ and Boundary condition settings.
  • Full vehicle CFD simulation using Star CCM+. Development of Vehicle Aerodynamic drag (CdA) performance using CAE.
  • Interpretation of results in Star CCM+, Comprehending the drag/ turbulence zones and providing directions for countermeasures. Perform parameter studies on the CFD/ FVM model for performance improvements.
  • Coordination with Wind tunnel testing agency for test execution, analyzing the results, correlation of CFD results and propose improvement in CFD methodology.

Report preparation and communication with design and testing for implementation of countermeasures.

Technical / Functional

:

  • Software knowledge: Hypermesh, UG-NX, Star CCM+.
  • Strong fundamentals: Fluid Mechanics, Thermal and CFD methods.
  • Knowledge of: Automotive Aerodynamics, Statistical knowledge for data analysis.
  • Experience of working in Automotive Aerodynamics and CFD evaluation domain – Meshing in Hypermesh & Full vehicle simulations in Star CCM+.
  • Debug the CFD model / Star CCM+ error independently.
  • Exposure to Wind tunnel test facility, instrumentation, testing procedures and basic understanding of Road load, CO2 & CAFÉ regulatory procedures
  • Experience in interpreting and understanding CFD results, post-processing and preparing comprehensive analysis reports with countermeasure proposals for meeting performance targets.
  • Exposure to Aerodynamic and aeroacoustics related vehicle design aspect is desired.
