Job Role: SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates based on project designs and requirements. Develop and maintain project budgets ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
Contract Administration: Administer contracts ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Negotiate contract terms and conditions to achieve favorable outcomes.
Billing and Payments:
- Client Billings: Prepare and issue invoices to clients for progress payments and final settlements based on work completed.
- Vendor Payments: Process payments to subcontractors and suppliers ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
- Labour Costs: Monitor and control labour costs; ensure accurate recording of labour deployment and costs against project activities.
Tendering and Procurement: Prepare comprehensive tender documents including bills of quantities (BoQ), specifications, and drawings. Evaluate tenders and make recommendations for contractor and supplier selection.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Establish and manage contingency plans for cost overruns and unforeseen issues.
Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and provide cost-related advice. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Labour Management: Liaise with site management on labour deployment, productivity, and cost implications.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role, with exposure to civil contracting and billing processes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation, financial management, project management, contract administration, and billing processes. Familiarity with relevant software like MS Office, project management tools, and possibly construction management software.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical thinking, and leadership skills.
