Role Overview:

The DGM Mechanical Design will lead the mechanical design and development of agricultural and residential pump products, ensuring performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability. The role requires strong technical expertise in design, mechanical systems, and product innovation, with a focus on energy-efficient and reliable pumping solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the mechanical design team for agricultural and residential pump products.
  • Drive concept-to-production design activities, including design validation and testing.
  • Develop 2D/3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISI, BIS, ISO, CE, etc.) and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Optimize product design for performance, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Conduct hydraulic design and performance calculations for different pump types (centrifugal, monoblock, submersible, etc.).
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams for product development and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
  • Drive VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) initiatives to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
  • Support vendor development and technical evaluation of components and materials.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to build a strong mechanical design capability.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pump hydraulics, mechanical systems, materials, and casting design.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, NX, etc.).
  • Exposure to CFD/FEA analysis for performance and structural validation.
  • Understanding of motor-pump integration, sealing systems, impeller and volute design.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes like machining, casting, and assembly.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • 1520 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Product Development, or R&D
  • Must have hands-on experience in Agricultural and Residential Pump design (Centrifugal, Monoblock, Borewell Submersible, Openwell, Jet Pumps, etc.)
