Purpose
- As Risk Based Inspection Team Lead, you lead the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) team for multiple FPSOs during the Operations Readiness phase, ensuring that all equipment covered under the Piping, Pressure Vessels, Naval and Mooring Risk-Based Inspection scopes meet related safety, operational, and regulatory standards. Your role is critical in identifying potential risks, assessing the condition of assets, and implementing strategies to mitigate any identified risk, thereby ensuring the continuous and safe operation of the assets.
Responsibilities
- You oversee and manage the RBI team, ensuring that all integrity management activities relating Piping, Pressure Vessels, Naval and Mooring have been identified, justified and recorded in the FPSOs documentation.
- You develop and implement RBI methodologies tailored to the specific needs of the construction yard, including risk assessment procedures and inspection strategies.
- You deliver all Piping, Pressure Vessels, Naval and Mooring RBI solutions at the Projects committed dates while controlling your allocated budgets.
- You ensure that all inspection activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- You ensure that Operational Performance Standards are reviewed against RBI needs and that Inspection plans are compliant with these standards.
- You prepare the RBI Contractors' Request for Quotations, Purchase Requests and review related invoices.
- You coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure the availability of necessary resources and services to carry out integrity activities relating to Piping, Pressure Vessels, Naval and Mooring
- You train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in RBI methodologies and best practices.
- You continuously monitor and update the RBI program Based on new data, technological advancements, and changes in regulatory requirements.
- You support incident investigations and root cause analyses related to equipment failures or safety concerns.
- You communicate with Clients within the confine of your responsibilities and the FPSOs management team requirements and instructions.
- You coordinate Project Operation Readiness Integrity Engineers during the excution of their scope.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is recommended.
- Certification in relevant RBI methodologies (e.g., API 580/581) or 15 years practical combined experience of delivering and managing RBI methodologies in operations.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Risk-based Inspection.
- Mandatory Oil & Gas experience with a strong technical background, additional FPSO experience is preferable
- Experience in Inspection & Integrity scope for a FPSO
- Experience in multiple budget and planning control.
- Proven experience managing teams in a high-pressure environment and accross disciplines.
- Knowledge of RBI methodology and Classification Society Rules for FPSO's
- Proven experience in risk assessment, inspection, and incident investigation.
- Experience offshore is a plus.
- Experience in FPSO turn-key projects is a plus.
