Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily clinical operations and nursing staff in the NICU.

  • Ensure proper allocation of nursing staff based on patient acuity and skill mix.

  • Monitor and maintain high standards of neonatal care as per hospital and regulatory protocols.

  • Coordinate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and support staff for integrated patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reports, and records (admissions, discharges, nursing notes).

  • Conduct and oversee staff training, orientation, and performance evaluations.

  • Ensure availability and proper functioning of NICU equipment (warmers, incubators, monitors, ventilators, etc.).

  • Implement infection control, medication safety, and hygiene practices.

  • Handle emergency situations and escalate clinical issues promptly to appropriate authorities.

  • Act as the first point of contact for patient families for clinical updates and counseling support.

  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance checks.
