Lead Commissioning

Role Overview:

The Lead Commissioning Support is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive commissioning of BESS assets, managing technical execution, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and optimizing overall asset performance and safety

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Commissioning Oversight:

• Ensure the successful commissioning of Battery Energy Storage System projects in Gujarat (GJ) and Rajasthan (RJ), with a focus on adherence to strategic objectives, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve the commissioning strategies and plans for key projects.

Site Coordination and Resource Management:

• Foster collaboration across teams to ensure effective project coordination and execution. Review site activities to achieve milestones, particularly for the Khavda BESS Project.
• Ensure manpower planning and resource allocation for integration and commissioning activities, particularly in new and ongoing projects.

Performance Evaluation and Optimization:

• Evaluate the performance of commissioned assets, Monitor performance metrics such as SOC,DOD, and Grid Availability, ensuring they meet annual business targets.
• Review the optimization measures for power performance analysis, technical issue resolution, and performance ratio (PR) targets as per the annual business plan.
• Ensure effective inventory management, including maintaining records of BESS spares, safety equipment, and other critical resources. Review site-wise budgets and cost management strategies to optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety Oversight:

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and safety standards in all commissioning activities. Review and enforce safety protocols, striving for a safety culture with '0' accidents and Lost Time Injuries (LTIs).
• Oversee the development of a safety culture at project sites by ensuring workplace safety, SOP adherence, and 100% safety compliance in BESS Project works.
• Monitor new regulations and ensure timely adoption of government portals and compliance tools such as Legatrix, IMS, and 5S systems.

Technical Strategy and Stakeholder Coordination:

• Review technical strategies for commissioning, including power evacuation, EMS integration at enterprise level, Metering scheme and 33kV line construction, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices.
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies and regulatory authorities, ensuring smooth project execution and compliance.
• Ensure connectivity and LTA/GNA processes for future projects are monitored and maintained, supporting business continuity and strategic growth.

Support Testing and SAT for Electrical Components:

• Lead and manages participation in SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) for major electrical components.
• Assist in testing and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure all components are functioning according to specifications.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Ensure comprehensive documentation for all project activities, including connectivity, LTA/GNA, and commissioning records. Review and approve technical documentation, RCA/CAPA reports, and inventory management records.
• Oversee regular reporting on project commissioning activities, including first-time charging protocols, project progress updates, and strategic alignment with business goals.

Business Transformation & Change Management:

• Lead efforts in business transformation, ensuring that processes align with strategic plans and the adoption of digital advancements is effectively integrated into operations.
• Ensure the alignment of project commissioning activities with the broader business transformation and change management initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with audit observations, ensuring on-time closure and adherence to agreed timelines between the commissioning and audit teams.
