Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Python Developer with 6-8 years of experience, having strong expertise in Python backend development and database technologies such as DB2 or Snowflake. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable backend systems, optimize data processing pipelines, and ensure application performance and reliability. Exposure to Java and modern cloud ecosystems will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Python applications with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Work extensively with DB2 or Snowflake for data modeling, ETL workflows, and query performance tuning.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, data engineering, DevOps) to ensure seamless integration of backend services.
  • Implement best coding practices including modular architecture, reusable components, and secure coding standards.
  • Write and execute unit tests; participate in peer code reviews to maintain code quality.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve production issues efficiently.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes to ensure faster and safer releases.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 68 years of professional experience in Python development (backend systems, APIs, and automation).
  • Strong hands-on experience with DB2 or Snowflake for data operations including SQL tuning, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Proficiency with Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
  • Expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Solid understanding of database performance, indexing, and data normalization techniques.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative development workflows.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with Java for backend or microservices development.
  • Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
  • Understanding of data streaming, ETL pipelines, or data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (pytest, unittest) and API testing tools (Postman, Swagger).

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
