Purpose and Objectives
Be fundamental in strategizing, developing and executing a business-aligned IR strategy towards creation of a best-in-class organization, developing company's culture and practices, managing sound industrial relations and administration, documenting policies and implementation of the same.
Education and Experience required:
• MBA in HR from reputed business schools/LLB/Diploma in Labour Laws with more than 12 years of experience in HR Operations, Industrial Relations, People Management, People Development, Compliances and Administration
Skills Required:
• Must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR department and should have strong leadership skills with high ethical standards.
• Good proficiency in Labour Laws
• Hands on experience in handling Union matters and other activities like issuing show cause, issuing chargesheet conducting enquiries etc.
• Organizational skills: Strong constructive interaction, collaboration, and communication in the matrix in all functions
• Communication skills: Effective communication and interaction skills with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders
• Leadership skills: Give team-oriented and constructive leadership, demonstrate and lead on the values through role modelling.
• Outstanding presence, personal motivation and drive paired with a hands-on, pragmatic approach to getting the job done with high integrity
• Commercial acumen: Role requires involvement in strategic decision-making within the business as an influencer. Being able to understand company finances, resourcing and the aim of the business is important.
• Intercultural competence with a high ability to derive maximum value from ever-increasing range and depth of cultural difference
• High business ethic values combined with experience in international Corporate Governance structures
• Coaching and mentoring: Whether senior executives, junior colleagues or middle management, you will be proficient in developing skills in your talent
• Trust: To be a trusted confidante on various HR issues, unafraid of giving your opinions and expertise
Major Tasks and Duties:
Industrial Relations Management
• Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive employee inquiries and complaints
• Design and executive effective communication framework for interaction with employees
• Design and execute employee engagement activities at all level.
• Conduct monthly meetings with workmen
• Explain, justify, and defend department programs, policies, and activities; negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on problems originating from individual work situations, work environment or personal problems.
• Counsel management and employees on grievances and complaints and takes appropriate steps to see that they are resolved or channeled to management.
• To develop processes which ensure compliance at all legislative and local governing agencies.
• To ensure all legal proceedings are completed for court cases related to employee grievances timely.
Adminstration
• Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes.
• Manage employee facilities like canteen, transportation, housekeeping, landscaping, security, sim cards (voices, data), travel desk etc.
• Manage service providers to ensure optimum level of service levels as per the agreed terms and conditions.
• Devise processes and systems to ensure feedback from employees, on services provided, are taken on periodic basis, and related corrective actions are taken to improve.
• Tracking costs as against the budget, ensuring cost reduction measures are implemented and realized.
• Liaoning with Government Authorities
• Employee Retention and Attrition Management
• To design proactive retention strategies, ensure attrition for top talent is at the minimum and the policies are implemented across locations and functions
• To develop best practices approach for minimizing employee turnover at all locations.
Performance and Compensation Management – Workmen category
• To design and develop employee friendly, fair and equitable compensation policies.
• Overview compensation and benefits function, including developing and implementing appropriate compensation and reward strategies, conducting external benchmarking exercises, recommending relevant changes to the compensation policies and practices, and administration of compensation benefits.
• Designing and deploying performance management strategy and policy including Design of Performance management systems, Target Setting workshops (defining KRA's), Coaching & Counselling sessions, etc.
• Constantly evaluate the effectiveness of overall compensation as also various incentive, R&R and retention plans and modify wherever necessary.
Additional tasks as and when assigned by the HR Head
• Oversees and coordinates all necessary safety related tasks including training, inspections, internal audits, reporting and compliance with governmental regulations
