Job Summary
The Stock Auditor is responsible for conducting regular physical stock audits across branches/warehouses to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with company inventory procedures. The role involves identifying mismatches, reporting findings, and helping maintain strong inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and surprise physical stock audits at stores and warehouses.
- Verify stock quantity, damaged stock, missing items, and old/slow-moving stock.
- Reconcile system stock vs. physical stock and report variances.
- Review stock-handling process: receiving, storage, labeling, and dispatch.
- Check GRN, stock transfers, sales returns, and purchase returns.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with discrepancies and corrective recommendations.
- Follow up with branch teams to ensure timely closure of issues.
- Identify repeated issues and escalate to management.
- Monitor stock movement to reduce shrinkage and pilferage.
- Support quarterly/annual inventory audits.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Business Administration.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Stock Audit / Inventory Audit / Retail Audit (mandatory).
- Good understanding of inventory systems, stock flow, and basic accounting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management software (ERP preferred).
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and irregularities.
- Good communication and report-writing abilities.
- Willingness to travel to branches when required.
