Direct Tax Professional – Ecommerce Industry

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 3 to 5 Years

Mode: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Direct Tax Professional who can manage end-to-end direct tax compliance, audits, assessments, and strategic tax planning for a large e-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage end-to-end TDS, TCS, and Equalization Levy compliances including validations, payments, rationalisation, and returns.
  • Handle Advance Tax (ECI) and Income Tax Return compliances for foreign entities.
  • Prepare and review advance tax workings and ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare tax computations and file Income Tax Returns for group entities.

Audit, Assessments & Litigation

  • Lead tax audits, transfer pricing audits, CbCR, Master File, Form 61A, and other filings.
  • Manage tax assessments and litigation including notice responses, hearings, and coordination with consultants and advocates.
  • Advise management on tax risks and strategies for favourable outcomes.

Tax Planning & Risk Management

  • Prepare annual tax projections and support applications for lower withholding certificates.
  • Review current and deferred tax provisions.
  • Develop and improve tax compliance processes and risk-management frameworks.
  • Support M&A-related tax matters and business restructuring initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with technology teams to support tax-related system developments.
  • Support statutory audits and related assignments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3–5 years of direct tax experience, preferably in e-commerce or large corporate setups.
  • Strong understanding of TDS/TCS laws, international taxation, transfer pricing, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in tax assessments, litigation handling, and audit coordination.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
