Job Purpose

The Production Manager oversees the entire garment production process, ensuring timely manufacturing of high-quality garments within budget and resource constraints. This role involves planning, coordination, and supervision of production activities from cutting to packing.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on order deadlines.
  • Allocate manpower and machinery to meet targets.
  • Monitor production flow across all departments: Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Packing.
2. Target & Efficiency Management
  • Set production targets and monitor team efficiency.
  • Analyze and improve line productivity.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
3. Quality Assurance
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to handle quality issues and reduce rejection rates.
  • Support AQL audits and buyer inspections.
4. Team Leadership
  • Lead and manage line supervisors, line leaders, and floor incharges.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.
  • Motivate the team to maintain discipline, quality, and productivity.
5. Inventory & Resource Management
  • Ensure optimal usage of fabric, trims, and labor.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and procurement to ensure timely material availability.
6. Compliance & Safety
  • Enforce workplace safety, hygiene, and compliance with labor laws and buyer requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for social, technical, and quality audits.
7. Reporting
  • Submit daily production reports to management.
  • Track order status and proactively flag delays or resource shortages.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Garment Manufacturing, Textile Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of production management experience in the apparel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, production metrics, and quality control.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MIS production tracking systems is a plus.
