Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that medical billing processes are accurately executed for patient services provided. This role involves coding diagnoses and procedures, submitting claims to insurance companies, managing patient accounts, and resolving any billing discrepancies. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and patients to ensure timely and accurate payment for services rendered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Coding & Billing: Accurately code patient diagnoses and procedures using standard coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Insurance Claims Processing: Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement; track the status of claims to ensure timely payment.
  • Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Post payments to patient accounts, reconcile accounts, and follow up on any outstanding or unpaid claims.
  • Patient Account Management: Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances, payment options, and insurance coverage.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CBCS, or similar) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and medical insurance policies.

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical billing and coding program is strongly preferred.
