Role & responsibilities

  1. Keep all OLTP databases stable, secure, and performing at a high level.
  2. Proactively investigate and resolve performance issues to minimize impact on teams.
  3. Ensure all backup policies and routine admin tasks (e.g., indexing, stats updates) are maintained and up to date.
  4. Identify high-consumption queries and work with users to improve efficiency.
  5. Manage access controls and maintain overall database security in line with IT policies.
  6. Build Dashboards to identify performance gaps & incident triage workflows.
  7. e2e Stakeholder alignment to produce required data.
  8. Able to create Python Scripts to make the Data more readable & process ready.
  9. Expertise in Migrations & Upgrade of MySQL Production critical databases & Percona Cluster. - This is a deal breaker as we are planning an OXID upgrade next year.
  10. solid experience with High availability system and controlled upgrades (with rollout plans in place)
  11. version migration with risk assessment
  12. Partition & Storage management directly coupled to Log shipping uses cases.
  13. Hands on expertise creating clusters / de-clusters of MS SQL, My SQL.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Good experience (hands-on) with MySQL, MSSQL and PostgresSql.
  • Experience doing performance tuning, indexing and good understanding of execution plans
  • Experience setting up backups, restores and replication
  • Good knowledge of overall database security ( roles, permissions,etc)
