Job Title: Performance Engineer (SDET-2/3)
Experience: 4 – 6 years
About the Role:
We are looking for a Performance Engineer to join our engineering team and ensure the
scalability, reliability, and performance of our applications and infrastructure. You will play a key
role in benchmarking, profiling, and identifying bottlenecks across our systems. Your expertise
will directly contribute to delivering smooth and responsive experiences to our users.
What You'll Do:
● Own the performance strategy—build and run load tests using tools like Locust, k6, or
Gatling.
● Benchmark APIs, profile backend services, and optimize system-level bottlenecks.
● Dive deep into logs and metrics (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) to find performance issues.
● Work closely with engineering teams to design for scalability from day one.
● Tune databases (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB), queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and caching
layers.
● Set up performance testing in CI pipelines so we never miss regressions.
● Help define and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and alerting thresholds.
You Should Have:
● 3–6 years of experience in performance testing and optimization.
● Strong grasp of HTTP, REST APIs, and backend performance fundamentals.
● Hands-on with any of these languages— Python, Go, or Java.
● Experience with APM tools like New Relic, AppDynamics, or Datadog.
● Familiarity with AWS / GCP, Kubernetes, and cloud-native observability.
Nice to Have:
● Worked on a high-scale product (e.g., fintech, social, mobility, or ecommerce).
● Experience with asynchronous systems, circuit breakers, and rate-limiting.
● Experience debugging weird slowdowns and memory/cpu spikes in prod.
