Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response: They are the first responder to critical incidents, emergencies, and facility-related issues, ensuring a prompt and effective response.
  • Patient & Family Support: The MOD handles urgent patient or family concerns, aiming to provide service recovery and maintain patient satisfaction.
  • Staff Leadership & Coordination: They provide leadership, support, and guidance to staff across various departments, assisting with problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Policy & Protocol Enforcement: The MOD ensures that hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols (like infection control, security, and fire safety) are followed.
  • Logistics & Capacity Management: This can include supporting patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, especially in relation to bed utilization.
  • Reporting: They prepare and submit reports on the activities and incidents of their shift to the hospital management.
