Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer with 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance enterprise-grade mobile applications on the Android platform. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and enhancing digital banking applications for Citizen Bank GCC, working closely with global stakeholders and engineering teams. This is an onsite opportunity at the Citizen Bank Global Capability Center in Hyderabad (Kokapet) and

demands strong technical leadership, design thinking, secure coding practices, and collaborative delivery in a regulated BFSI environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to deliver high-impact features aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and ensure secure and seamless data exchange.
  • Optimize app performance across multiple Android OS versions and screen sizes, ensuring smooth, low-latency experiences.
  • Implement and enforce mobile app security standards, performance tuning, and clean architecture (MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture).
  • Conduct peer code reviews, write unit and UI tests, and ensure high code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitrise, GitHub Actions) for automated builds and deployment.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Android frameworks, Jetpack components, and contribute to enhancing the mobile tech stack.

Must-Have Skills

Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development.

In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack Libraries, Room Database, Retrofit, Coroutines/Flow,

and Material Design guidelines.

  • Expertise in developing UI using XML layouts, Constraint Layout, and custom views.
  • Solid understanding of MVVM architecture, modularization, and dependency injection (e.g.,

Dagger/Hilt).

  • Experience with performance profiling, debugging tools, and memory management.
  • Integration experience with Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Push Notifications).
  • Version control using Git, with solid knowledge of branching strategies and CI practices.
  • Familiarity with unit testing (JUnit, Mockito) and UI automation testing (Espresso).

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to Jetpack Compose and modern declarative UI practices.
  • Knowledge of OWASP Mobile Security, secure storage, and mobile compliance in banking or FinTech applications.
  • Experience with Play Store lifecycle management, feature flags, A/B testing, and analytics integration.
  • Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, or other cross-platform tools is an added advantage.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum teams with Jira, Confluence, and sprint rituals.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in Android/Kotlin development or secure mobile development are a plus.
