We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Manager.
Principal responsibilities
- While it is understood that the Senior Business Manager role carries a far-reaching and constantly evolving set of responsibilities, it also entails a core set of accountabilities that must be optimally discharged
- Act as a central trusted advisor to pillar leads, serving as a bridge and/or gatekeeper between the business, CCM COO and their stakeholders.
- Tailor the governance framework to the operating rhythm required to facilitate effective and efficient decision-making. This encompasses Executive Committees, QBRs and other senior leadership forums. The individual will need to be adept at preparing PPT decks, understand the business they are serving and provide solutions through their presentations to ensure outcomes are achieved.
- Pro-actively manage the preparation of the senior leadership team for all key internal and external engagements (including client meetings; industry conferences; senior executive meetings; regulatory engagements)
- Prepare for and, where required, facilitate meetings attended by the senior leadership team and assist in setting the agenda and ensure that the meetings are constructive
- For each business area, be the audit and MSII PoC; Assist with management of direct reports from objective setting to mid-year and end-of-year performance assessments
- Review and administer multi-year business cases and team budget/resource tracking.
- Prepare or review and approve all internal and external output (incl. communications, speeches or presentations by senior leaders on achievements/strategic outlook of the pillars)
- Co-ordinate periodic updates required from pillars, track actions from meetings where applicable and drive solutions/progress across teams.
Qualifications
- Outstanding relationship management, interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills - ability to communicate effectively and with confidence across the Group, at all levels. To be successful in this role you must become a partner/chief of staff to our senior stakeholders.
- Strong credit and lending experience to appropriately understand requests / actions received and lead discussions with critical stakeholders
- Experience of absorbing/understanding new information and becoming an SME in that area to enhance value add in the role; Technically proficient with Power Point and experience in analysing performance metrics
- Be flexible and adaptable to constantly changing priorities and to tasks that are unpredictable, complex and time- sensitive; requires the simultaneous handling of a broad range of issues
- Ability to negotiate and influence across networks of matrixed stakeholders; Ability to understand, digest, interpret, and convey complex information rapidly and accurately, including on initially unfamiliar topics and situations.
- Strong critical analytical thinking skills – ability to critically consider information from a number of sources, identify material issues and articulate and present a well-reasoned business case within defined and challenging timeframes
- Understanding of competitive dynamics, best practices, and market trends in the financial services industry; understanding of external geopolitical and economic factors
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, in an environment of changing execution priorities; Ability to prioritize, to drive outcomes with pace, whilst setting and managing expectations; decisiveness when faced with competing demands
- Commitment to unfailingly high standards; always seeking opportunities for further improvement; A practical 'hands-on' approach suited to working in a small team, reporting directly to senior management
- Remain up to date on any statutory and regulatory developments that may impact the Group
