Ports & SEZ: Over the past few years, we have evolved from a traditional port operator to a leading integrated ports services provider. As the largest port organization for the past two decades, we offer a wide range of services including cargo handling, container terminal operations, logistics, port infrastructure development, and maintenance. Our expertise extends to multimodal transport solutions, customs clearance, port security, and environmental sustainability, positioning us as a key player in global trade and logistics.
Job Purpose: Lead - Business Development is responsible for strategic business development initiatives, client relationship management, project analysis, contract negotiations, and sales and marketing strategies. Ensures robust risk management, fosters team development, and maintains a digital mindset.
Business Acquisition:
Secure new businesses by attracting industrial units to APSEZ Industrial Estates and obtaining long-term cargo projects for all APSEZ ports.
Project Management:
Analyze and swiftly execute strategic projects, BD initiatives, and tasks directed by the BD (Growth, SEZ & IZ) HOD, top management, and CEO's office.
Opportunity Identification:
Continuously monitor and dive deep into the macro business scenario across sectors to identify and generate new business opportunities, considering sectoral policies and international trade dynamics.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with clients, associations, and trade bodies to create and strengthen new business opportunities.
Financial Due Diligence:
Conduct financial due diligence and detailed analysis, including IRR/EBITDA/PAT calculations, to assist management in making informed project decisions.
Contract and Bidding Management:
Manage participation in bidding for new projects, including documentation, contractual risk analysis, and initial contract management up to COD.
Market Intelligence and Analysis:
Keep track of industry trends and competitors to guide strategic decisions and identify competitive edges through information gathering and networking via seminars, conferences etc
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Aggregate inputs from various departments, work as a joint team member, and manage multiple large projects independently, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Digital Mindset:
Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
Team Development:
Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success.
