  • Student welfare and guidance:
  • Assist students in adapting to hostel life and managing academic or personal challenges.
  • Act as a first point of contact for student complaints and grievances, resolving conflicts promptly.
  • Liaise with parents or guardians as needed.
  • Administration and operations:
  • Supervise daily attendance and overall activities of residents.
  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and quality of food in the mess.
  • Manage hostel staff, including caretakers, cleaning, and kitchen staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents, visitors, inventory, and other hostel activities.
  • Discipline and rules:
  • Maintain the overall decorum of the hostel.
  • Enforce hostel rules and regulations, and address instances of indiscipline.
  • Submit regular reports to management or the Chief Warden.
  • Facility management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hostel.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping staff for the upkeep of the premises.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle conflicts, emergencies, and crisis situations effectively.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of hostel administration, discipline, and safety protocols.
