Machine Operators – Job Description (Interior / Modular Factory)

Positions:

  • CNC Router Operator
  • Edge Banding Machine Operator
  • Sheet Pressing Operator (Hydraulic/Cold Press)
  • Panel Saw Operator
  • Multi-Boring Machine Operator

Department: Production

Materials: Plywood, MDF, HDHMR, WPC, Acrylic, Laminated Boards

Reporting to: Production / Factory Manager

1. CNC Router Operator – Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC router for cutting plywood, MDF, WPC, acrylic.
  • Load programs (DXF/G-code) and execute job files.
  • Fix tools/bits and run cutting, grooving, slotting, drilling.
  • Maintain accuracy, check final cut sizes, and reduce wastage.
  • Perform daily machine cleaning and basic maintenance.

2. Edge Banding Operator – Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate automatic edge banding machine.
  • Apply PVC, ABS, veneer, laminate tape on finished panels.
  • Adjust temperature, speed, trimming, buffing settings.
  • Ensure clean edges with no chip-outs or gaps.
  • Maintain glue tank, rollers, and cleaning schedule.

3. Sheet Pressing Operator – Responsibilities

  • Operate cold press / hot press machines for laminate pressing.
  • Align laminate and plywood properly before pressing.
  • Control pressure, temperature (if hot press), and pressing time.
  • Ensure bubble-free and even laminate bonding.
  • Keep records of laminate usage and sheet output.

4. Panel Saw Operator – Responsibilities

  • Operate panel saw to cut raw boards into required dimensions.
  • Follow cutting list and layout to minimize wastage.
  • Set correct blade speeds, align fences, and ensure straight cuts.
  • Inspect panel sizes before sending to CNC/edge banding.
  • Maintain blade condition, cleanliness, and safety practices.

5. Multi-Boring Machine Operator – Responsibilities

  • Operate multi-boring/drilling machine for modular hole patterns.
  • Follow drilling diagrams and ensure accurate spacing of holes.
  • Adjust horizontal & vertical boring heads.
  • Maintain correct depth, alignment, and clean drilling finish.
  • Keep tools sharp and machine calibrated.

Common Responsibilities for All Operators

  • Follow safety rules (PPE, gloves, mask, safety shoes).
  • Maintain clean workspace and machine hygiene.
  • Report breakdowns or issues immediately.
  • Coordinate with store team for material requirements.
  • Submit daily production reports.
  • Maintain zero-defect and on-time output.

Skills Required

  • Experience in interior/modular furniture machines.
  • Ability to read basic drawings/cutting lists.
  • Knowledge of materials: MDF, plywood, laminate, WPC, acrylic.
  • Machine handling, discipline, and quality awareness.

Experience

1–5 years in modular/interior factory preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15, ₹30,000.00 per month
