Role & responsibilities

Lead the supply chain and contracts function for Jyoti Structures Ltd., ensuring efficient, transparent and cost-effective procurement, contracting, logistics and inventory management to support timely delivery of Transmission and Distribution EPC projects across India.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic and Leadership

  2. Drive JSLs SCM strategy aligned with business goals and execution schedule commitments.

  3. Strengthen a culture of integrity, transparency, diligence and commitment across the supply chain.

  4. Build and lead a high-performing procurement, contracts, logistics and warehouse team.

  5. Procurement and Vendor Management

  6. Develop sourcing strategies for structures, conductors, insulators, hardware, foundation materials, equipment and subcontractors.

  7. Secure competitive pricing and timely supply through effective supplier development and negotiations.
  8. Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships and enforce vendor performance evaluations.

  9. Expand vendor base for critical materials and services to support scale and risk mitigation.

  10. Contracts and Commercial

  11. Draft and finalise supply and subcontract agreements in alignment with JSL standards.

  12. Planning, Logistics and Inventory Management

  13. Align procurement plan with engineering release and project execution plans.

  14. Ensure timely despatch and delivery to project sites through proactive expediting and logistics control.
  15. Oversee warehousing, site stores operations and ensure discipline, accuracy and reconciliation of materials.

  16. Implement measures to prevent pilferage and enforce audit compliance.

  17. Process, Systems and Controls

  18. Implement and strengthen SCM SOPs, ERP processes and control mechanisms.

  19. Monitor procurement cycle time, supplier performance, inventory levels and logistics cost.

  20. Drive continuous improvement and digitisation initiatives for agile execution and real-time visibility.

  21. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  22. Partner with Tendering for competitive vendor quotes and price benchmarking.

  23. Collaborate with Engineering, Project Execution, Quality and Finance to ensure seamless supply support.

  24. Provide strong service orientation to project sites through field SCM support and escalation handling.

  25. People Leadership

  26. Mentor, train and build capability in the SCM team.

  27. Promote accountability, ethical conduct, and disciplined process adherence.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduate in Engineering; preferred MBA in Supply Chain or Operations.
  • 15 to 20 years experience in SCM, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Power T&D EPC.
  • Proven experience in bulk procurement, contracts, logistics and multi-site supply operations.
  • Strong network in T&D supply markets and vendor ecosystem.
