Power Electronics Hardware Engineer
to join our expanding team and contribute to the success of our eVTOL program.

About The Role
We are looking for a Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to work in the Power Electronics & Control Team for eVTOL advanced electrical power conversion systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of power electronics hardware:
  • Understand project requirements to design, model, and validate using simulations.
  • Optimize design to meet reliability, testing standards, manufacturability, material, and cost guidelines.
  • Prepare & validate design documents, component selections/BOM.
  • Develop an efficient production testing plan for power electronics and related assemblies.
  • PCB Layout design
  • Conduct DFMEA, perform root cause analysis, implementing fixes to improve yield, performance, reliability, and manufacturability of electronic assemblies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Teams.

Meeting Other Attributes Like

  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design concepts, including high-voltage and high-current systems.
  • Experience in developing and troubleshooting high-voltage systems and components, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Experience in design and development of power electronics converters like DC-DC, DC-AC converters as per industry standards.
  • Understanding of advanced converter topologies (like soft switching converters) and wide-band gap semiconductor devices (like GaN, SiC).
  • In-depth knowledge of power devices and their gate drive requirements.
  • Proficiency in designing and sizing high-voltage power architectures, including power distribution, energy storage systems, and power conversion.
  • Proficiency in designing for EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Familiarity with electronics packaging. Expertise in design optimization.
  • Understanding of PCB design/Layout guidelines for power circuits and systems.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink, LTSPice, PSpice
  • Knowledge of PCB design tools like Altium/KiCAD
