Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and manage modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data engineering, data lake management, and data pipeline optimization using Azure cloud services and big data technologies.

You will play a key role in configuring and managing Azure Data Lake, optimizing data ingestion, transformation, and retrieval, and enabling high-performance analytics through platforms like Azure Synapse and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows on Azure cloud.

- Configure and manage Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), ensuring secure and efficient data access.

- Develop and optimize data processing workflows using Apache Spark and Databricks.

- Integrate data from diverse sources into a unified data lake or warehouse environment.

- Work with Azure Synapse Analytics to model, query, and analyze large-scale datasets.

- Automate data ingestion and transformation using Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.

- Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage across the data ecosystem.

- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and application teams to deliver reliable, analytics-ready data.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience :

Primary Skills :

- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Apache Spark.

- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and distributed data processing.

- Experience in building scalable data pipelines using Python / PySpark / SQL.

- Proficiency in Azure cloud services related to data engineering and analytics.

Secondary Skills :

- Experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration and workflow automation.

- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD for data solutions, and data governance practices.

- Understanding of performance tuning and cost optimization in Azure data environments.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering roles, including 3 years working with Azure Data services.
