Job Purpose

The
Videographer & Editor
at Anurag University will be responsible for conceptualizing, shooting, and editing high-quality video content that reflects the university's vision, academic excellence, student life, and events. The role demands creative storytelling, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with students, faculty, and departments to produce engaging visual media for marketing, documentation, and internal communication purposes.

The position also involves utilizing the
fully equipped studio and podcast room,
while guiding the
student photography club
in developing professional media skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Video Production & Filming

  • Plan, shoot, and produce high-quality videos for academic, promotional, and social media purposes.
  • Capture campus events, student activities, faculty interviews, and university initiatives.
  • Operate professional cameras, lighting setups, gimbals, microphones, and studio equipment.
  • Manage multi-camera setups for studio and outdoor shoots.
  • Ensure all recordings meet the university's visual branding and quality standards.

2. Video Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit video content using professional software
    (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).
  • Add motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, animations, and sound effects.
  • Color grade and mix audio for consistency and clarity.
  • Prepare different versions of videos optimized for web, social media, and large-screen display.
  • Maintain an organized video library and backup archive.

3. Studio & Podcast Management

  • Coordinate and manage bookings for the video studio and podcast room.
  • Set up lighting, sound, and recording equipment for podcasts, interviews, and live sessions.
  • Assist faculty and students in creating academic video content or podcasts.
  • Ensure studio equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in working condition.

4. Creative Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Public Relations, Marketing, and Social Media teams to plan video campaigns.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to develop educational video materials.
  • Create concept notes, scripts, and storyboards for new video ideas.
  • Guide and train student members of the
    Photography and Media Club
    on videography, editing, and studio ethics.

5. Event Coverage & Documentation

  • Provide photo and video coverage for all major university events, fests, and official functions.
  • Capture highlights and testimonials to create promotional or recap videos.
  • Coordinate with the student media team for parallel coverage and content sharing.

6. Media Asset Management

  • Maintain a structured digital archive of photos, videos, and project files.
  • Tag and categorize visual assets for easy retrieval and future use.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security of all recorded media.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Film Production, Media Studies. Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in videography and video editing (preferably in education, media, or corporate settings).
  • Proficiency in video editing and motion graphics software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro,
    DaVinci Resolve.
  • Working knowledge of photography, lighting, and audio setup.
  • Experience with drone videography is an added advantage.
