Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and committed Early Years Teacher who thrives in an inquiry-driven, international educational setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood pedagogy, a deep understanding of the IB PYP framework, and a natural ability to connect with young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver inquiry-based, play-centered learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) standards.
  • Establish a nurturing, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and positive social interactions.
  • Implement Jolly Phonics strategies effectively to strengthen early literacy skills.
  • Plan and facilitate activities that support children's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
  • Collaborate actively with colleagues in unit planning and interdisciplinary projects to enhance holistic learning experiences.
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents through regular, professional communication, meetings, and progress updates.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of student learning, observations, and assessments.
  • Participate enthusiastically in school events, parent workshops, IB training sessions, and professional development programs.
  • Embrace and promote the core values, mission, and vision of Bloomingdale International School.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching Early Years in an IB PYP or Cambridge curriculum school setting.
  • Strong working knowledge and classroom application of the Jolly Phonics program is essential.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Passion for child-centered education with the ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs.
  • Collaborative, well-organized, innovative, and open to continuous learning.
  • IB PYP training/workshops certification will be a significant advantage.
  • Professional, well-groomed demeanor, positive attitude, and commitment to school values.
