O&M Technician

*Job Summary:*

The Solar O&M Technician is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This includes scheduled maintenance, corrective actions, inspections, and system monitoring, ensuring safety, compliance, and maximum energy production.

*Key Responsibilities:*

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, trackers, and monitoring equipment.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and replace electrical components to resolve system issues.
• Monitor system performance using SCADA or other remote monitoring platforms and respond to alarms or performance drops.
• Conduct inspections and reporting of site conditions, equipment status, and production data.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
• Complete and maintain detailed service records, reports, and documentation.
• Support commissioning of new installations and upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering, asset management, and other technical teams as needed.

*Qualifications:

Education & Experience:*

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or associate degree in electrical, electronics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in solar PV maintenance or equivalent electrical fieldwork.
• Experience with utility-scale or commercial PV systems preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems, solar inverters, and data monitoring systems.
• Familiar with electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and troubleshooting tools (e.g., multimeters, thermal cameras).
• Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to interpret data and resolve system issues independently.

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):

• NABCEP PV Associate or Technician Certification
• OSHA 10/30 Certification
• CPR/First Aid
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training
