 Job Title: Finance Manager – Agency Control Assurance
Location: Chennai, India

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to work within a Shared Service Centre looking after Agency Control Assurance to ensure financial integrity and compliance across our network of international offices. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing robust financial controls to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Integrity and Reporting

  • Address internal control deficiencies identified by audits and drive timely resolution.

  • Review agents' Monthly Management Reports (MMR) for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure proper reconciliation of balance sheets, clearing accounts, and aged balances.

  • Collaborate with agents on financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Review draft audited financial statements.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Identify risks or non-compliance issues in financial processes and operations.

  • Maintain a Country Risk Register to log and manage identified risks.

  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance controls.

Compliance

  • Ensure agents meet statutory and compliance obligations, including accounting and tax requirements.

  • Support the rollout of new policies by drafting guidelines and conducting training.

Process Improvement and Efficiency

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and adopt automation tools.

  • Develop and implement standard accounting procedures to improve operational efficiency.

  • Recommend enhancements to financial systems and controls.

Training and Communication

  • Present financial performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management.

  • Support the professional development of finance staff through performance evaluations and training.

 
Qualifications
Must Have

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Commerce, Finance, or related fields.

  • Experience: At least 7 years in finance, accounting, or related fields, with expertise in financial management, auditing, and compliance.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Oracle Fusion and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

    • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.

    • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Professional certification such as CPA or CA.

  • Industry experience in shipping, logistics, or related sectors.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity.
