Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Management & ReportingPrepare, maintain, and finalize financial statements in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable UGC and statutory norms. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management and regulatory bodies.

Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of the university and suggest measures for financial improvement.2. Budgeting, Planning & Cost ControlLead the preparation of annual budgets for the university, including academic and administrative departments. Collaborate with heads of departments to prepare departmental budgets aligned with strategic objectives.

Monitor budget utilization, identify deviations, and suggest corrective actions. Implement and enforce cost optimization and financial prudence across the university.3. Fee Structure & Revenue ManagementSupervise formulation, revision, and implementation of the university's fee structure in compliance with statutory guidelines and management policies.

Ensure proper collection, accounting, and reconciliation of student fees, including tuition, hostel, examination, and other charges. Coordinate with the IT/ERP team for automation and integration of fee payment systems. Monitor scholarships, concessions, and refunds to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Generate periodic MIS reports on fee collections, pending dues, and defaulters.4. Audit & Statutory ComplianceManage internal, statutory, and government audits, including audits by the CAG, UGC, and other regulatory bodies. Ensure adherence to Income Tax, GST, PF, ESI, and other applicable financial laws and university regulations.

Oversee filing of TDS, GST, Income Tax returns and maintain proper records of all statutory filings.5. Grants & Research Project AccountingMaintain accounting of grants received from government agencies (UGC, AICTE, DST, etc.) and private bodies. Ensure proper documentation, utilization, and reporting of funds under sponsored projects and endowments.

Monitor and reconcile fund disbursements and support departments with compliance reports.6. Payroll & Employee BenefitsSupervise payroll processing, ensuring accurate computation of salaries, deductions, and compliance with applicable laws. Handle taxation of salaries, issue Form 16, and ensure timely remittance of statutory dues.

Liaise with HR for pension, gratuity, and other employee-related financial matters.7. ERP and System ControlsImplement and maintain accounting software and university ERP for seamless financial operations. Ensure financial modules are accurately mapped, tested, and integrated with academic and administrative functions.8.

Internal Controls & Risk ManagementDevelop and enforce robust internal control systems to prevent fraud and ensure accuracy. Regularly assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Design standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.9.

Liaison & Advisory SupportLiaise with banks, auditors, government departments, and funding agencies on behalf of the university. Provide financial advice to university leadership on investments, procurement, and project financing. Qualifications & Experience:Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Minimum 10-15 years of post-qualification experience in a university or, large educational institution or any other service Industry. Experience in budgeting, fund management, ERP, statutory compliance, and audit coordination. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative departments.
