Job Description

Productivity & Process Improvement

  • Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement productivity improvement measures.
  • Lead time and motion studies, establish standard time for all operations.
  • Implement lean manufacturing tools such as Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and Poka-Yoke.
  • Optimize material flow, layout, and workstation ergonomics to reduce waste and improve cycle time.

2. Capacity & Manpower Planning

  • Develop and maintain plant capacity models based on customer demand and production plans.
  • Plan and optimize manpower deployment for various operations to ensure productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate line balancing and introduce automation where feasible.

3. Cost Reduction

  • Drive initiatives for cost savings through process improvements, layout changes, and energy optimization.
  • Monitor manufacturing cost per unit and implement projects to reduce conversion cost.

4. New Model / Project Support

  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and localization projects by defining process flow, layout, and equipment requirements.
  • Validate process capability and ensure industrialization readiness before SOP (Start of Production).

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Track OEE, productivity metrics, and efficiency KPIs on a regular basis.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly IE performance reports and present improvement actions.

6. Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, SCM, and HR for smooth implementation of IE initiatives.
  • Support HR in manpower budgeting and productivity-based incentive systems.

Job Requirement

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering tools
  • Good understanding of process design and ergonomics
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / layout design software
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification: B.E / B.Tech in Industrial Engineering / Mechanical / Production Engineering
  • Experience: 8–12 years in Industrial Engineering, preferably in the automotive or auto-component industry
