Sr. SAP Basis consultant

About this opportunity

Aligntech's Enterpise Architecture team is looking for a Senior SAP Basis administrator to be part of geographically distributed team. This person will be responsible for managing production and non-production SAP eco systems, work with development teams and should also apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve engagement productivity, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks and resolve issues. Responsible for support and enhancement of the complex SAP implementation.

In this role, you will…

• Administer and support SAP landscape(S/4Hana, ECC, APO, BW, BOBJ, GRC, GTS, PI/PO, MII, Fiori, BTP, etc.)

• Manage SAP installations, support packages, kernel patches, system copies, and migrations

• Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades that include databases, operating systems, SAP and non-SAP components.

• Configure, finetune, and troubleshoot the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis.

• Proactively monitor system health using tools such as SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM or third-party tools

• Collaborate with internal teams, hosted system provider(s) and 3rd party vendors to plan migrations, upgrades, expansions and resolve SAP issues.

• Collaborate with infrastructure teams (OS, DB, cloud, storage) for patching, backups, and performance issues

• Ensure SAP systems are compliant with security, audit, and data privacy standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR)

• Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance.

• Design and implement an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability following SAP Best Practice principles.

• Identify risks and propose solutions in system designs

• Participate in and support disaster recovery planning and testing

In this role, you'll need …

• Strong SAP Basis experience. Proven knowledge of S/4Hana, ECC, PI, MII, BW, BOBJ, GRC, SCM with APO and Livecache, Solman, SAP Cloud ALM and SAP BTP.

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent technical training and minimum 8 years experience.

• Proven record of 3-5 years + hands-on experience with both the ABAP and JAVA stacks within the overall SAP landscape running in HA clustered and DR environments.

• Extensive experience in analysis and problem resolution.

• Experience with administration of SAP ECC on HANA with HSR scenarios, DB2 HADR.

• Good RedHat administration skills

• Experience with Google Cloud, RISE platforms is a plus

• Project planning and management is a plus
