A Sales Officer is responsible for promoting and selling products, managing a sales territory, building customer relationships, and ensuring sales targets are met. Key duties include developing and executing sales strategies, analyzing market data, coordinating with customers and distributors, and handling administrative tasks like invoicing, record-keeping, and MIS reports.

Core responsibilities

• Sales and strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets for the assigned territory.
• Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
• Market analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on competitor activities.
• Sales execution: Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to closing deals and ensuring timely delivery of products.
• Administrative support: Handle essential administrative tasks such as preparing and issuing invoices, maintaining sales and customer records, and preparing daily or monthly MIS reports.
• Team coordination: Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a sales team, which may include recruiting and training new members.

Required skills and competencies-

• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze campaign data and market metrics.
• Deep product knowledge and understanding of sales strategies.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Adaptability and the ability to build strong relationships.
• Familiarity with administrative software, such as SAP or other ERP systems for invoicing and record-keeping.
