About the RoleWe are seeking a Lead Security Engineer with deep expertise in authentication protocols, compliance frameworks, and secure system design. You'll lead the charge in protecting our platform and customer data—working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and legal teams to build scalable, compliant, and secure systems from the ground up. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement secure authentication and authorization systems, particularly using OAuth 2.0 and JWT standards.

Lead penetration testing initiatives (internal and third-party) and vulnerability remediation. Ensure platform-wide encryption standards, including AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit. Champion secure API design, threat modeling, and code reviews for all critical services.

Own compliance readiness and controls for PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOC 2 frameworks. Collaborate with DevOps/SRE to enforce infrastructure security (IAM policies, least privilege, secrets management). Manage incident response plans, conduct tabletop exercises, and coordinate postmortems.

Mentor junior engineers and establish security best practices across the company. Required Qualifications5+ years in security engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT tokens.

Deep knowledge of encryption protocols (AES, RSA, HMAC), certificate management, and secure key storage. Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools (Burp Suite, Metasploit, OWASP ZAP, etc.). Track record of achieving and maintaining compliance with PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOC 2.

Fluency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and experience with modern CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred QualificationsRelevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CEH, CCSP, CISA).

Experience working in fintech, healthtech, or other highly regulated industries. Contributions to open-source security projects or published CVEs.
