Job Description:

We are seeking a Mainframe Modernization Expert with proven experience converting mainframe applications and databases into cloud-hosted, modern solutions. The role involves analyzing legacy systems, designing migration strategies, and implementing modern Java/cloud-based architectures with minimal downtime and maximum data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze mainframe systems (COBOL, DB2, JCL, BMS Maps) and define migration strategies.
  • Migrate UI components (BMS Maps) and batch JCL jobs into Java frameworks.
  • Rewrite/convert DB2 for z/OS stored procedures and schemas for modern databases.
  • Use modernization and code conversion tools to streamline migrations.
  • Deploy modernized solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ensure performance, business continuity, and data integrity throughout migration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize risks and downtime.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, DB2, BMS Maps).
  • Hands-on experience with modernization/code conversion tools.
  • Proficiency in IBM Db2 for z/OS and schema/stored procedure optimization.
  • Good knowledge of Java (Spring, microservices preferred).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
