Overview

Skinroots is looking for a highly skilled, hybrid Web Designer & Developer to be the driving force behind our online presence. You will be responsible for creating a visually stunning, user-centric (UI/UX), and high-performing e-commerce platform. This role requires expertise in both modern Front-End Development and clean, professional Web Design.

Key Responsibilities (Keywords Focused)

The ideal candidate will manage the complete lifecycle of our digital interfaces, from concept to deployment:

1. Design & User Experience (UX/UI)

  • Lead the design process, including wireframing, prototyping, and visual creation using tools like Figma or Sketch.
  • Translate brand guidelines and marketing objectives into compelling, functional User Interfaces (UI).
  • Conduct User Research and Usability Testing to identify pain points and optimize the overall customer journey.
  • Design and iterate on core e-commerce templates, specifically Product Pages, Landing Pages, and the Checkout Flow, focusing on Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).

2. Development & Technical Implementation

  • Write and maintain clean, semantic, cross-browser compatible code using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Ensure responsive design and mobile-first principles are implemented across all pages and components.
  • Optimize website performance and page load speed using best practices (image compression, efficient code bundling, lazy loading).
  • Work closely with the backend team or e-commerce platform (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) for seamless integration and deployment.
  • Implement A/B testing variations and tracking code using tools like Google Tag Manager to support data-driven design decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in both Web Design (UI/UX) and Front-End Development.
  • Expert proficiency in design/prototyping tools such as Figma or Sketch.
  • In-depth knowledge of core web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS) and utility-first frameworks like Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap.
  • Proven experience in e-commerce environments, with a focus on product merchandising and conversion funnels.
  • Strong understanding of Web Accessibility (WCAG) standards and SEO best practices.
  • Portfolio demonstrating visually appealing design and robust, clean code implementation.
