About Us:

Varthagam International is a private-label apparel manufacturer serving global brands and startups. As we scale our operations, we're looking for a smart and reliable Accounts Assistant to support our finance team in maintaining accurate records and handling day-to-day accounting operations.

Role Overview:

The Accounts Assistant will work closely with the senior accountant and be responsible for executing finance tasks, maintaining records, and producing accurate reports. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions and work well within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting entries, invoice recording, and ledger maintenance
  • Prepare reports and summaries as instructed by the senior accounts team
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer ledgers
  • Support GST, TDS, and tax document preparation and filing
  • Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions
  • Coordinate with internal departments for finance-related updates
  • Ensure accuracy in billing, payments, and reporting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and tax compliance
  • Familiarity with accounting tools (Tally preferred) and MS Excel
  • Team-oriented, disciplined, and proactive in completing tasks
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company
