About this opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MongoDB Database Administrator to join our operations team and own the installation, configuration, management, upgrade and optimization of MongoDB database environments. In this role you will ensure high availability, security, performance, and disaster recovery for mission‑critical NoSQL systems while working closely with development, storage and network teams. This is a hands‑on role in a 24x7 operational environment with rotating shifts to support critical infrastructure and minimize downtime.

What you will do

  • Install, configure and maintain MongoDB instances, replica sets and sharded clusters, ensuring robust architecture and minimal downtime.
  • Implement and enforce authentication, authorization and RBAC policies; manage user and role administration.
  • Design and apply indexing strategies and schema recommendations to optimize query performance for large datasets.
  • Monitor cluster health, memory usage, disk I/O and replication lag; proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Profile and tune CRUD operations and slow queries; use metrics and logs to drive performance improvements.
  • Plan and execute backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures; validate recovery strategies regularly.
  • Lead and validate MongoDB version upgrades and migrations with minimal service impact.
  • Collaborate with Dev, Storage and Network teams to ensure seamless integration, capacity planning and effective incident response.
  • Produce operational runbooks, health checks and documentation to support 24x7 operations.

You will bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience with 2–3+ years in IT and proven experience as a MongoDB DBA in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MongoDB architecture, replication, sharding and cluster management.
  • Hands‑on experience with backup/restore, disaster recovery, query tuning, profiling and performance optimization.
  • Experience configuring authentication, authorization and RBAC for secure MongoDB deployments.
  • Ability to operate in a 24x7 support model with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Good to have

  • MongoDB Certified DBA Associate/Professional.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Relevant Linux or DevOps certifications and experience integrating MongoDB with automation/CI pipelines.
