Job Description:

Looking for computer-aided design (CAD) operators to resize or modify simple to complex designs and generate CAD proofs for use in production of die plates in the corrugated industry. On-site training will be given. Well-spoken and fluent English is mandatory.

Education:

Fresh graduates in Engineering or those with ample experience with CAD tools

Responsibilities:

  • Operates computer-aided design (CAD) system to resize or modify designs
  • Generate computer record of artwork for use in producing plates used in manufacturing die boards.
  • Reviews work order and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
  • Calculates figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion chart and calculator.
  • Locates file relating to specified design projection data base library and loads program into computer.
  • Types commands on keyboard to enter resizing specifications into computer.
  • Confers with engineering and design staff to determine design modifications.
  • Enters specified information into computer, using keyboard, to generate computer tape of approved design.

Inaccurate or out of specification computer-generated information will result in incorrect laser operation, thus producing an inferior quality or unusable die-board. Establishment would suffer significant financial harm from loss of production, time spent in re-doing the project, and eventually loss of customers due to being unable to meet customer production deadlines and quality standards.

Extra Notes:

Preference will be given to individuals with some experience in the corrugated box industry. Experience with using software such as CIMEX, Impact (by Arden Software), ArtiosCAD, or similar with be highly preferential. Experience in other CAD systems is beneficial, but not necessary.

General Comments:

This is a high speed, high pressure production work in a competitive manufacturing environment . Worker must be able to work under stress and pressure to meet customer deadlines . All workers are responsible for quality control and must meet production standards.
