Job Overview

Podar Education Network is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our finance team at our Parel location. This full-time, mid-level position requires expertise in accounting software and financial analysis to manage our growing financial operations effectively. The Account Officer will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting the organization's educational mission through sound financial practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software is required for managing and maintaining accurate financial records efficiently.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is essential to handle accounting tasks, ensuring all records align with organizational standards.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and complex formulas, are essential for financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in financial analysis to evaluate the organization's financial performance and develop insightful financial strategies.
  • Required understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes to manage and streamline financial transactions.
  • Must be familiar with tax compliance regulations to ensure that all tax-related tasks are handled accurately and timely.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP for integrating core business processes and managing financial operations with greater efficiency.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify and solve financial discrepancies and improve processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records by applying accounting procedures and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Assist in financial analysis and reporting activities to support senior management in strategic decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and prepare tax returns, ensuring all financial obligations are met punctually.
  • Reconcile account balances and bank statements to maintain the accuracy of financial information.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of accounting software to optimize financial management and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve financial controls across the organization.
