Process specific responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the companys financial controlling functions. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements,filings, and regulatory compliance. The professional in this position works closely with the finance, accounting, and legal departments to develop and manage effective financial controls that align with company objectives and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Controlling and Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Ensure accurate consolidation of financial statements, including the review of financial results, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare variance analyses, and provide recommendations for improving profitability and cost management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and KPIs to track and communicate financial performance to senior leadership.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial controls and accounting processes, mitigating financial risks and ensuring compliance with company policies.

2. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax and financial professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Develop team members' skills and capabilities through training and career development initiatives.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, and other business departments to ensure seamless coordination of tax and financial matters.
  • Build relationships with external tax advisors, legal consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Masters in Commerce / Bachelor in Commerce.
  • 4+ years of experience in Tax & Financial controlling.
  • Strong interpersonal & Presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills required in both written & oral communication in English.
  • Proficiency in MS office skills particularly in excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in ERP / applications – SAP, Oracle and applications like Blackline
  • Innovative and analysis skills are required to deal with complex data, identify discrepancies and suggest for cost saving opportunities.
