Job Title : Structural Designer

Location : Coimbatore / Hyderabad

Experience : 4 to 6 Years of relevant experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural CAD Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality 2D and 3D structural drawings, including layouts, general arrangements, and isometric piping drawings. The candidate will work closely with Onsite structural engineers and project managers to develop models and drawings for industrial structures, piping systems, and equipment layouts using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit and related software tools.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models, isometric views, orthographic views and general arrangement (GA) drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor and Revit.
  • Create and manage structural modelling, equipment modelling, and pipe routing in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Generate accurate frame structures using Frame Generator tools in Inventor.
  • Collaborate with Onsite structural engineers to interpret designs into detailed CAD drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings and models meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Use Navisworks for model review and coordination.
  • Familiar with standard structural steel sections and apply them in models.
  • Drive Design for manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Develop Bills of Material (BOM) and design documents.
  • Knowledge on Material Selection for product based on application

Required Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, including structural, piping and equipment modelling and GA drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, including Frame Generator.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks for model coordination.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles and standard steel sections.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
  • Strong leadership skills with pro-active approach
  • Excellent communication, presentation, technical writing skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering or related degree from an accredited 4-year university or college.
  • 4 to 6+ years of relevant experience in a CAD designer role in structural or plant design.
  • Familiarity with design codes like IS, AISC, or Eurocodes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles, Six Sigma and Kaizen
