About the Role

Accdon, a leading author service provider in scholarly publishing, is seeking experienced Manuscript Formatting Editors to join our professional editorial team. In this role, you will ensure academic manuscripts are formatted precisely according to journal-specific guidelines, including references, figures/tables, structure, and style requirements. You will work closely with our managing editors and project managers to deliver high-quality, publisher-ready submissions for authors worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Format academic manuscripts according to specific journal guidelines (Elsevier, Wiley, Springer Nature, IEEE, ACS, MDPI, etc.).

  • Ensure full compliance with journal requirements, including:

  • Structure (title page, abstract, highlights, keywords, sections).

  • Reference format (APA, Vancouver, AMA, IEEE, ACS, Harvard).
  • Figure and table formatting, labeling, and placement.

  • Layout, headings, fonts, spacing, margins, and file specifications.

  • Prepare manuscripts for initial submission or revision.

  • Review author materials to ensure completeness and consistency.
  • Track and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Maintain high attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency across documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a scientific, technical, or academic field (preferred: life sciences, engineering, medicine, social sciences, or elated).
  • 1-3+ years of experience in manuscript formatting or academic publishing.
  • Strong familiarity with major publisher and journal formatting requirements.

  • High proficiency with:

  • Microsoft Word (advanced level: styles, cross-referencing, captioning).

  • Reference managers (EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero).

  • Excellent written English and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow complex instructions and handle high-volume tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience formatting manuscripts across multiple disciplines.
  • Familiarity with LaTeX typesetting (optional but a plus).
  • Ability to work flexible hours and meet short turnaround deadlines.
