Experts enables Alexa+ to complete complex tasks using Amazon and third-party (3P) APIs and websites. Some of these include: playing your favorite music, control your smart devices, reserving a table at a restaurant, setting your morning alarms, kitchen timers, booking event tickets, scheduling an appointment and planning a trip. Alexa AI developer Technology charter is to enable creation of experts at scale and make it seamless for 1P and 3P developers to integrate their businesses with Alexa+. We are measurably making Alexa+ smarter, and we need your help to define and build the next generation of capabilities using GenerativeAI.

Key job responsibilities
As an SDM, you will be responsible for leading a team delivering large projects across Alexa. Your team will build the foundational architecture for Alexa's LLM based experiences, and will coordinate the implementation efforts between internal teams and external partners. You will be expected to make appropriate trade offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. You'll also be responsible for ensuring your team operates efficiently. You'll coordinate cross-team programs to deliver state-of-the-art natural language based capabilities. You'll help teams identify key risks, provide guidance on how to communicate them, and ensure leadership has the right visibility. This role will have to work closely with senior leaders across Alexa and lead strategic initiatives.

About the team
Alexa AI Developer Tech is an organization within Alexa+ on a mission to empower experience builders to create delightful and engaging experiences by making Alexa+ conversational, smarter, personalized, and gets things done.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience in building developer platform, SDKs and developing Agentic applications.
