Mainframe Developer (Remote)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with 4+ years of experience in COBOL, JCL, and database technologies like DB2 and IMS-DB. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with version control tools such as Endevor and exposure to ETL tools or cloud platforms like AWS (Glue, S3, Data Pipeline). This is a remote, full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and JCL.
  • Work with DB2 and IMS-DB for database management and queries.
  • Perform code versioning, change management, and deployments using Endevor or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and design scalable solutions.
  • Optimize and tune application performance for batch and online systems.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Document technical processes, workflows, and system enhancements.
  • Explore integration opportunities with ETL tools or AWS services as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in mainframe development.
  • Strong programming knowledge in COBOL and JCL.
  • Hands-on experience with DB2 and IMS-DB.
  • Proficiency in Endevor or other version control tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

  • Working experience with ETL tools.
  • Exposure to AWS cloud services (Glue, S3, Data Pipeline).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
