Role & responsibilities

Overview

The AutoCAD Draftsman / Architect is responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for projects across architecture, civil, mechanical, and construction domains. The role involves interpreting sketches, collaborating with engineers and architects, ensuring design accuracy, and maintaining adherence to project specifications and industry standards.

Core Responsibilities

Create Technical Drawings: Develop precise 2D and 3D drawings, blueprints, and models based on project requirements, sketches, and specifications.

Collaborate with Teams: Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure drawings align with project objectives and technical requirements.

Revise and Update Drawings: Modify existing plans to incorporate design changes or stakeholder feedback.

Ensure Accuracy and Compliance: Review designs for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and guidelines.

Prepare Project Documentation: Support preparation of reports, design files, and bills of materials (BOM).

Maintain Drawing Records: Systematically manage drawing files, revision logs, and project documentation.

Key Skills and Knowledge

AutoCAD Proficiency: Expertise in creating and editing 2D and 3D technical drawings.

Technical Understanding: Strong grasp of architectural and engineering principles, materials, and standards.

Attention to Detail: High accuracy in measurements, dimensions, and specifications.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain structured documentation.

Communication Skills: Clear and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.

Proven experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman / Designer in a similar industry.

Proficiency in additional design tools (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks, SketchUp) is an added advantage.

3–4 years of relevant domain/industry experience preferred.
