An SAP ABAP Developer with expertise in CDS Views, OData, and RICEF implements custom solutions within SAP systems, focusing on efficient data modeling with CDS Views and creating web services via OData. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) objects, collaborating with functional teams, ensuring code quality, and potentially supporting Fiori and cloud applications. This role requires strong object-oriented ABAP skills, often with experience in ABAP on HANA, and a thorough understanding of business requirements to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

  • RICEF Development:Design, develop, and maintain core ABAP functionalities, including reports, interfaces (using BAPIs, IDocs, APIs), enhancements (BADIs, User Exits), and forms (SAP Scripts, Smartforms, Adobe forms).
  • CDS Views: Utilize Core Data Services to define sophisticated, reusable data models that provide efficient access to data for various applications and reporting tools.
  • OData Services: Develop and maintain OData services to build RESTful APIs for integrating SAP systems with Fiori applications and other external systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts and functional consultants to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Code Quality: Ensure high standards of code quality through performance tuning, adherence to best practices, and comprehensive unit and integration testing.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for developed solutions.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide support for ABAP applications, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents across both on-premise and cloud environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Proven work experience in ABAP development, ideally with experience in S/4HANA and ABAP on HANA.
  • Technical Expertise:Strong proficiency in object-oriented ABAP programming, data modeling with CDS Views, and developing OData services.
  • Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Problem-Solving:Ability to independently manage complex development tasks and deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
