The DAV Group of Schools, Chennai is, as you may be aware, one of the premier institutions in the country with a 50+ year heritage of providing high quality, value-based and affordable education. The group today, caters to over 40,000 students across 8 Owned schools, 5 Managed schools, 2 Govt-Aided schools, 1 vocational training centre and 13 academic associate schools. It has a staff strength of 1500, including over 1,200 teaching staff. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 30 schools in the country.

We are now looking to recruit Academic Counsellor.

Job Description

As a Student Career/Academic Counselor, you will provide guidance and support to students in exploring career options, making educational decisions, and preparing for the job market. You will work closely with students to help them understand their strengths, interests, and goals, and assist them in developing strategies for academic and career success.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Required in Counseling, Psychology, Education, Human Resources, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree: Preferred or sometimes required, especially in Counseling, Higher Education, Career Counseling, or a related field. A Master's degree enhances expertise and may be necessary for licensure or certification.

Experience:

  • Counseling Experience: Previous experience in career counseling, academic advising, or a related field is highly valued. Experience working with students or young adults is particularly beneficial.
  • Educational Setting Experience: Experience working in educational institutions, such as schools, colleges, or universities, is advantageous.

Salary shall commensurate with experience.
