At ORBCOMM we are looking for a Lead Architect to design and evolve our next-generation architecture as we expand from IoT-centric offerings into an AI-first SaaS and marketplace ecosystem.

You'll play a key role in defining our enterprise-level technical blueprint—connecting data, APIs, applications, and cloud infrastructure into a scalable, monetizable platform that powers digital transformation in logistics, transportation, and supply chain industries.

What You'll Do:

• Define and own ORBCOMM's enterprise-level digital services architecture across applications, APIs, data, security, and infrastructure.
• Shape the SaaS/API marketplace platform, ensuring service discoverability, scalability, and monetization.
• Establish reference architectures, design patterns, and governance frameworks for developers and solution teams.
• Connect IoT and location data with contextual business data—such as assets, bookings, commodities, and customers—into unified logical models.
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Partner with product and business leaders to align architecture decisions with strategic and monetization goals.
• Mentor Senior Architects and engineers, fostering a culture of architectural excellence and innovation.
• Evangelize ORBCOMM's AI-first digital vision internally and externally to promote alignment and engagement.

Who You Are:

You are a security-focused technical leader with deep experience in embedded systems or cloud platforms, especially if you have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in software or technical architecture, with proven end-to-end design and leadership responsibilities.
• Proven success designing API marketplaces, SaaS platforms, or large-scale digital ecosystems.
• Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot, Microservices, JEE, Hibernate) and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or ).
• Broad technical knowledge across data architecture, security, integration, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience embedding AI/ML into product architecture and digital solutions.
• Strong executive presence with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical depth and execution.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to support daily tasks and productivity.
• Commitment to continuous learning in digital and AI literacy.
