Role Summary:
The Senior Manager – International Admissions is responsible for leading the institution's international student recruitment strategy, managing the end-to-end admissions process, and building strategic global partnerships. The role demands expertise in international market development, compliance with visa and immigration regulations, and strong operational leadership to ensure high conversion rates from inquiry to enrolment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Execution
o Develop and implement international student recruitment strategies aligned with institutional enrolment goals.
o Identify and evaluate new international markets; design market-entry strategies in collaboration with marketing teams.
o Monitor international admissions trends and introduce innovative initiatives to enhance outreach and competitiveness.
- Admissions Operations
o Oversee the full international admissions lifecycle—from inquiry to enrolment.
o Ensure timely and accurate processing of applications, including credential evaluation and eligibility verification.
o Maintain compliance with immigration regulations and institutional policies.
- Team & Process Management
o Lead and mentor the international admissions team; set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
o Implement CRM tools, SOPs, and data-driven workflows to optimize efficiency.
o Coordinate with academic, finance, visa, and housing teams to ensure seamless onboarding of international students.
- Partnerships & Business Development
o Build and maintain relationships with education agents, overseas partners, embassies, and recruitment networks.
o Represent the institution at international fairs, exhibitions, and roadshows to promote brand visibility.
o Develop pathway and articulation agreements with international schools, colleges, and universities.
- Stakeholder Engagement
o Collaborate with academic departments to align admission criteria and course requirements.
o Work with marketing teams to develop country-specific campaigns.
o Prepare and present reports, analytics, and market insights to senior leadership.
- Compliance & Risk Management
o Ensure adherence to international data protection laws and visa regulations (e.g., GDPR, SEVIS, IRCC, UKVI).
o Implement measures to detect and prevent fraudulent applications.
o Maintain strict quality control for all admissions documentation.
Preferred Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education Management, International Business, or a related field.
Experience:
8–12 years of experience in international student recruitment and admissions, preferably in a higher education institution. Proven ability to manage large-scale admissions operations, lead cross-functional teams, and develop global recruitment strategies. In-depth knowledge of student mobility trends, international education markets, and visa processes across key regions (Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, etc.). Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Slate), MS Office, and data analytics. Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Willingness to travel internationally as required.
